About

Our Mission: To develop and deliver training designed to transform behaviors.

Founded in 2007, Training Enhancement Center, (TEC III) offers comprehensive training to public and private organizations across the country.  Based on nearly 30 years of public safety and high liability training experience, program content is specifically designed based on the target audience and the needs of the organization.

Survival Mindset

One of TEC III’s featured training seminars, Survival Mindset, is particularly illustrative of the dangers of inattention to potential threats in situations where people tend to be complacent or distracted and offers excellent opportunities to teach specific potentially life-saving behaviors in response to those threats. The course is intended for adults of all ages, including college-bound young adults and teens ages *15 and up. Course content includes self-defense demonstrations and techniques. Its primary focus is on recognition and avoidance of violent encounters.

De-escalation Techniques

"A successful outcome can be measured by your ability to control a situation through verbal skills rather than through use of your hands.”
– Donna Kinsey, founder, TEC III

In circumstances where people are acting aggressively and where fear and anxiety control the narrative, our ability to anticipate, avoid, or de-escalate a situation is more important than ever.  Aggressive verbal assaults, threats, intimidation, and unprovoked physical attacks are occurring in public places. Restaurants, airports, and other modes of public transportation are just a few places where an unprovoked assault may occur. This course offers the target audience observation skills, communicative techniques, and de-escalation tactics to help calm a situation and to potentially avoid it before it escalates. Interactive role play scenarios examine both verbal and non-verbal communication tactics that can be applied in a wide range of settings.

Stop the threat…Stop the Bleed

Response to Active Shooter/Active Threat Training – For a split second, think about what you would do if you found yourself in the midst of a crisis situation.  The time to think about how you would react is NOT during the crisis.

This course teaches emergency response options in the unlikely event that you find yourself in a fluid situation involving an active shooter or similar threat. Scenario based interactive training exercises demonstrate a variety of conventional and non-conventional personal safety, rescue, and life-saving options. Taught from a “seconds count if you are bleeding out mentality,” the course is designed to help mitigate serious injury or loss of life in advance of first responders’ arrival on the scene.

Weapon Options for Women

This course, designed exclusively for women, examines various personal self-defense options for civilians.

This 3-hour course offers an overview of several defense weapons and options for women to consider in self-protection. Various weapons will be displayed and discussed including their capabilities and legal guidelines for carrying each weapon in the respective state. This course does NOT include live firearm shooting exercises, nor does it include comprehensive training on any specific self-defense weapon, but rather is designed to educate women and provide a brief overview of various  types  of  personal  protection  devices  and  weapons.

The course is comprised of lectures, PowerPoint, video, display, basic familiarization, handling, mock demonstration, and discussion. Various weapon design, nomenclature, and capabilities will be discussed.

*Weapons included in discussion, display, and hands-on familiarizations include Pepper Spray, Taser, Revolver and Semi-Automatic handguns. This Course is limited to 20 attendees to allow the maximum amount of time for instructors to spend with individual participants.

*Not available in all states.

Learning to Lead- Organizational Goals and Stress-free Fundamentals for Women

Women often lead stressful lives. At times the demand for our attention to everyday mundane responsibilities encompassed with the relentless pressure that we place on ourselves to fix everything, results in a sense of frustration to the point of physical and mental exhaustion. This course is designed to help women take a step back, examine their self-worth and recognize their full potential. Group work and laugh-out-loud competitive exercises make this presentation a session to remember.

This course is designed for the working professional, in both sworn and non-sworn civilian positions at every rank of the organization. Hear personal stories and experiences as the instructor unfolds some of her life’s significant failures that ultimately led to success.  Both newly appointed and tenured senior level supervisory personnel can benefit from this training. Learn how to incorporate goal setting and “stress-defying” principals into your daily personal and professional life.
